These crispy Chiquita plantain clusters are called "little spiders" or "arañitas" because of their spidery shape. They're delicious served plain, with dipping sauce or spicy guacamole.

Peel plantains and cut in half crosswise. Thinly shred plantains using a food processor or box grater. Place in a bowl and toss with garlic salt. In a large, heavy skillet heat about 1/2-inch of oil to medium-high heat. With your hands, scoop small clumps of plantains. Squeeze together lightly then carefully place in hot oil. Work in batches to not crowd the pan. Cook for about 1-2 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Do not allow to over brown. Drain on paper towels and repeat with remaining plantains.
